Ballet in the Streets of Long Beach

I had a great time this past week shooting ballerina Candace Cameron in Long Beach.  I worked for the first time with Katie Ging who is an incredible photgrapher specializing in ballet photography.  Her website can be found here: http://www.katiegingphotography.com/l.

The first image was taken with the Nikon 105 macro lens and shot at f/2.8, 1/200th of a second, and ISO 400.  It was important to increase the shutter speed at the expense of a higher ISO to stop the action.  In all the photos, only ambient light was used.

The second and third images had the least amount of ambient light but since Candace was not moving I was able to shoot at a shutter speed of 1/60th of a second and keep the ISO at 400.  I used the Nikon 24-70 f/2.8 lens at f/2.8.

Thank you Gelane. I had a great time photographing Candace. If I edit anymore of them, then I will be sure to post them on my website. I did give all my photos to Katie and she will hand them over to you when she’s finished editing the ones she picks.
